So I finally got my hands on an HTC Snap cell phone to try out, and it was kind of a surprise to me. Despite the fact that the thing LOOKED like a Blackberry, it actually offered a much better control scheme, as far as I was concerned. But that wasn’t all it offered. The HTC Snap comes with a Qualcomm MSM 7225 processor with Windows Mobile 6.1. It has a hundred and ninety two megs of onboard memory, and a 2.4 inch LCD display. It comes with a trackball and a full QWERTY keyboard, bluetooth connectivity, Wi-fi, a two megapixel camera, support for a variety of different audio and video formats, and a battery that offers a maximum of five hours of talk time on a single charge

Nokia Siemens Networks and LG Electronics have achieved an LTE downlink data transfer rate of 100 Mbps, the maximum speed for a Class 3 LTE terminal. The call was made using Nokia Siemens Networks’ LTE radio equipment including the Flexi Multiradio Base Station, its Evolved Packet Core network elements and standards-compliant software along with a pre-commercial LTE USB modem from LG. The speed record comes after the announcement from November 2009, when the two companies were the first to complete end-to-end LTE interoperability tests in the 2100 MHz frequency band.

It’s too early to say whether Natal will be a hit — too early to really even say if it works or not, really — but we know it’s captured the imaginations of gamers and developers alike. But apparently it didn’t impress Nintendo when they were (allegedly) pitched with an early version of the tech back in 2007 . To be fair, it was in a rougher state than we have seen it, and of course Nintendo already had a working motion control technology and another in the works.

We love the iPhone book-reading app Classics, and apparently Apple does, too. The iPad tablet includes an app called iBooks, and its similarities to Classics are beyond the realm of coincidence. The UI is the same idea: a shelf of books that you can tap to choose a title.

Lenovo has a special product that was only launched in China, it’s their eBook reader named Lenovo Phaeda iBook. In China the Lenovo eBook is also known as Tianji iBook EB-605 and in terms of specifications it has a 6-inch E-Ink screen which is powered by a Samsung ARM 400MHz processor. It is compatible with a lot of different file formats, such as RTF, PDF, TXT, CHM, and many others.

Mvix’s Ultio Pro looks suspiciously like a commercial version of an HTPC. Designed with 1080p decoding, network media playback from a NAS or PC, and the option to add a PVR, I might have to get one of these to replace my old Xbox Media Center. The Ultio Pro supports pretty much every media file format I can think of, including WMA, MKV, and ISO files.
