The new version extends device support, fixes several bugs and is localized in total of 18 languages: Arabic, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Malay, Brazilian Portuguese, English (UK), English (US), Finnish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese (PRC), Spanish, Spanish (Latin America), Tagalog, Thai and Vietnamese

Apple ( NSDQ: AAPL ) has been raking in cash with its iTunes music store over the past several years, in the process forcing the music industry and consumers to get comfortable with paying $1 per downloaded song. These days, you’ll find iPod and iPhone users toting around dozens of gigabytes worth of downloaded music with them wherever they go. Soon though, Apple might just side-step the download process and stream your music library directly to your iPhone.

I don’t know about you, but I’m actually quite curious to see what Samsung has up their sleeves with their home grown Bada operating system . You may not know this, but Samsung is the second largest handset maker in the world. They’re not a little fish in the sea, and depending on which analyst you ask, the South Korean company whose name translates to “three stars” and who started out as nothing more than a trading post, may very well become the next Nokia ( NYSE: NOK ) in terms of unit sales.

Nokia ( NYSE: NOK ) has released a new firmware update for its QWERTY keyboard-equipped E75 smartphone. The 153MB-heavy update brings firmware to version 201.12.01, bringing tons of improvements, including: Integrated Ovi Contacts New shortcuts in Applications folder – Facebook, YouTube and MySpace Calendar speed improvements and synchronisation bug fixes Updated clients: N-Gage, Share Online, Nokia Messaging Contacts speed improvements Web update to next-gen browser, v7.1, which is faster Overall UI speed improvements Quickoffice updated to v5.3, with Office 2007 support (v6.0 is a free upgrade within the app) AllAboutSymbian calls the new firmware a must-install, and we’ve nothing to add. Unlike the iPhone apps, Android apps are not pure gold, as not that many people actually buys them. According to the recent Skyhook Wireless’ survey, Android developers are frustrated with multiple issues, including: 82% of those surveyed indicated that the design of the Android Market makes it difficult for apps to be noticed; 57% are not satisfied with the profits to date; 43% report that they would sell more apps if Android used a carrier billing or another simpler billing system (other than Google ( NSDQ: GOOG ) Checkout); Only 10% of Android developers are currently serving ads. Finally, as we see Android evolving with the day, developers don’t like the idea of having multiple versions of the OS available for the users – 46% were certain this would make development more difficult.

This particular issue is far from settled, since it is a fact that certain levels of radiation lead to transcription errors and such, but at the very least, studies like this one reinforce the idea that we’re not all of us going to drop dead in a couple years. The study, performed by the Danish Cancer Society and documented in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, studied brain cancer rates in Scandinavian countries over a period of 30 years.

The other day I posted on ‘Snowboading TnT’, which has been re-released with some whizzy new motion-sensing (accelerometer) code in it, to make the most out of the game. Well, I’ve had some time to play it now (one of the benefits of being an insomniac – you have loads of time to play-test games!), and I have to say I like it! Now S-TNT isn’t one of those games that you’ll spend hours and hours on – at least I don’t think so – but I do think it will serve brilliantly as a stop-gap when you’ve got say 10-60 mins spare, and want a game that will hook you, and get you playing with a mixture of racing, tricks, and tactics! The downhill element of the snowboarding is much like any other game – start at the top of the hill, then race to the bottom (in this case it’s against the clock). You could even argue the point about doing tricks off jumps is like MANY other games out there – but I say when it ain’t broke, why fix it
