Android Controls Robot, Human Enslavement Imminent

You know when Google ( NSDQ: GOOG )’s mobile operating system is capable of controlling the movements of a $3000 Japanese robot, it’s only a matter of time before even bigger robots fall under Android’s devious sway – throw in a dash of self-awareness, and you’ve got a dystopian future where an amalgamate mothermind of Android phones independently controls legions of disposable (yet deceptively adorable) robots and Christian Bale cusses off coworkers in between the dropping bombshells.

Nexus One: Unboxing Google’s first ’superphone’

Google ( NSDQ: GOOG ) wouldn’t be Google if they didn’t launch the Nexus One without building up hype for the handset. One of the ways the Mountain View, CA-based search giant did that was to coin a new term to describe their Nexus One – “superphone.” Seeing as how the new Android phone packs the most advanced smartphone features available today, the new Android 2.1 OS, and a handful of innovative software and hardware technologies, Google saw fit to call the Nexus One a “ superphone .” Not a smartphone, mind you, this superphone is supposed to showcase the possibilities when you put Google and HTC together in the same room.

AT&T turns on 7.2 Mbps HSPA, deploying fiber backhaul to towers during 2010 and 2011

As a response to T-Mobile’s decision to turn on 7.2 Mbps today it appears that AT&T has done the same thing . Realistically speaking these two events were probably scheduled months in advance and press releases were written several weeks prior, but I’ll ignore the logic and just say it’s AT&T responding to T-Mobile ( NYSE: DT ) and then going one step further and calling them a nasty poo poo head. AT&T is also saying that they’re going to “dramatically increase the number of high-speed backhaul connections to cell sites, primarily with fiber-optic connections, adding capacity from cell sites to the AT&T backbone network”.

New audio sampler tool for DJs appears – in the shape of an iPhone app!

Against the Grain Media have enlisted the promotional help of DJ Krafty Kuts to launch their sampler tool application for the iPhone! This sound effects tool which comes pre-loaded with over 100 samples including MC shouts, classic dub sirens, bass drops, rises and many more useful noises to spice up your set. “I wanted to produce a sampler style app which could actually be used by DJs in clubs or on the radio” says Krafty Kuts, pointing out that this is the first iPhone App of its kind suitable for professional use. Having the ability to drop samples like ‘Make Some Noise In Here!’ along with big ‘woosh’ and ‘lazer’ noises over my mixes, without the need for a laptop or third turntable is amazing!” The app is priced at £2.99, which I’d say is reasonable – if it replaces the need to have another sampler source in your DJ setup, then it’s a steal! Looking at the UI, it’s in the same style as you’d find on sampler hardware, with nice big trigger pads on screen
